Exhaustion by ~malicent:iconmalicent:

Exhaustion
-----------------

In this forsaken city I sighed with her

A girl I saw outside the glazed jacking club
Her arms strangled her legs in air
Two men torn her soul with the rip of a skirt
I stood there, heart on my sole, sweat in my palm
I prayed
I spoke
Too late

In that abandoned warehouse terror took place
Not the first time in this lovely decadent city
Girls are all living with men robbing their lives
And the office clerk with their troubled wives
To school boys and pin-ups in magazines
Or artists who succumb to popularity
In an empty state of fame
I am exhausted from it all
Tired of waiting
For a screening of bravery
A dose of magnitude
And that thing we call compassion
Strewn loose too minute to hold

Exhaustion comes and breathing takes strain
Rushing is playing and waiting is the game
Blindfolded radars hiding villains
Houses in debt due to drinking pleasures
Lust controlls, curse the reign
Yet no one stayed behind

Author's Comments

It is 01:26am. I'm sitting here facing my screen, some kind of blatant avoidance of sleeping because well, there are too many things on my mind. Too many people that run in my heart, and alot of disturbing feelings of loss, anger and even a slight envy for those who are actually sleeping. I wish I didn't think so much sometimes, I wish I didn't care. I could very well just dive into shallowness and become one of them but I promised that I would never go so low. After all, what is the point of living if I did do that. I refuse to be a loser, some cranky bitch that thrives on the ready-made gaps of our way too plastic society.

This is very deep and it is sad that it is true.

I love your style of writing and the way you express yourself.

Things go on in the world that cant be explained, and everyone seems to sell themselves to some sort of vice. While the ones that try to do good is always on the sidelines, and nobody ever listens or notices them.

As always: Great job.

You are right.

Most people are always out for theirselves and that is why the world is so messed up.
